About Us: Lisa Loomis

Lisa Loomis can trace her love of physical fitness to her time growing up in Iowa and South Dakota, where being active was simply a part of daily life. After graduating from Iowa Sate University of Science and Technology, she transitioned to an office job, but was surprised at how challenging it was to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. She, like so many of us, fell into the trap of cramming high-intensity physical training into an already over-crowded day, resulting in workouts that seemed designed to punish the body rather than enhance it. Lisa decided to take control and create a more balanced approach to wellness for herself and for others. She began teaching yoga and fitness classes, eventually opening her own fitness studio, Work in Progress. 


Over the years, Lisa has obtained certifications in multiple disciplines from such highly respected institutions such as ACE, NASM and ISCA. She spent four years completing rigorous training in all aspects of Stott Pilates, including advanced certifications in Mat and Reformer, as well as Pilates specialties such as Cadillac, Barrel, and Chair. She is a certified Yogafit Teacher and Ace Yoga Specialty instructor. She is also a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness instructor. Her focus is on helping her clients meet their fitness goals and live active, balanced, healthy lives. Lisa’s holistic, whole-body approach to fitness and wellness helps her clients stay active and injury-free.
